The Hanuman Chalisa is a devotional hymn in Awadhi language composed by the 16th-century poet-saint Tulsidas. "Chalisa" means "forty" in Awadhi. It consists of 2 dohas (couplets) followed by 40 chaupais (quatrains). It praises Hanuman and is believed to remove fear, grant strength, and protect devotees from evil.
