Catholic prayer to the Virgin Mary - கன்னி மரியாளுக்கான ரோமன் கத்தோலிக்க ஜெபம்
Hail Mary மூன்று பகுதிகளால் ஆனது - முதல் இரண்டும் வேதாகமத்திலிருந்து, மூன்றாவது பின்னர் சேர்க்கப்பட்டது:
"அருள் நிறைந்தவளே வந்தனம்; கர்த்தர் உம்மோடிருக்கிறார்."
"Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you."
This was the angel Gabriel's exact greeting to Mary when announcing the conception of Jesus. "Full of grace" (kecharitomene in Greek) is a unique past-perfect participle indicating a state of being already filled with grace.
"ஸ்திரீகளுக்குள்ளே நீ ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவள், உன் கர்ப்பத்தின் கனியும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டது."
"Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!"
When pregnant Mary visited Elizabeth (also pregnant, with John the Baptist), the Holy Spirit filled Elizabeth and she spoke these words. The Rosary links these two biblical greetings.
"பரிசுத்த மரியே, இறைவனின் தாயே, பாவிகளாகிய எங்களுக்காக வேண்டிக்கொள்ளும்."
"Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death."
"Mother of God" (Theotokos) was affirmed at the Council of Ephesus (431 CE). Catholics ask Mary to intercede, similar to asking living saints to pray. "Pray for us" - intercession, not worship.
