Matthew 5:3-12 - Sermon on the Mount - மலைப்பிரசங்கம்
மலைப்பிரசங்கம் (மத்தேயு 5-7) இயேசுவின் மிக முக்கியமான போதனையாகும். "பேரின்ப வாக்குகள்" (Beatitudes) என்பது 8 ஆசீர்வாத வாக்குகள் - "பாக்கியவான்கள்" என்று தொடங்கும் வார்த்தைகள்.
The Beatitudes open the Sermon on the Mount - Jesus' greatest teaching. The word "Beatitude" comes from Latin "beatus" meaning "blessed" or "happy." Each describes a characteristic of disciples and the blessing (reward) that follows. They describe the upside-down values of God's kingdom.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
ஆவியில் ஏழையாக இருப்பது என்பது கடவுளுக்கு முன் தன்னை தாழ்த்திக்கொள்வது. நம் தன்னிறைவு துறந்து கடவுளை நம்புவது.
"Poor in spirit" means humble before God, aware of one's spiritual need and dependence on God. This is the first and foundation of all other beatitudes.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
பாவத்தைக் குறித்து வருந்துவது, இழப்புக்காக அழுவது - இந்த துன்பம் கடவுளிடம் தேற்றலை கொண்டுவரும்.
Mourning over sin, over the brokenness of the world. God promises comfort to those who grieve. Also applies to mourning over personal losses - God is the God of all comfort.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
சாந்தம் என்பது பலவீனம் அல்ல - கட்டுப்படுத்தப்பட்ட வலிமை. யாரோடும் சண்டை போடாமல் தன் சக்தியை கடவுளிடம் ஒப்படைப்பது.
"Meek" doesn't mean weak - it means strength under control, power submitted to God. Moses was called meek (Numbers 12:3) yet led 2 million people. They will inherit the earth - the ultimate vindication.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
உலகில் நீதியை வேண்டும் ஆர்வமும், தன் வாழ்வில் நீதியாக இருக்கும் விருப்பமும் - இந்த பசி கடவுளால் நிரப்பப்படும்.
A deep, intense longing for God's righteousness - both personal holiness and justice in the world. Like physical hunger and thirst, this spiritual hunger will be satisfied by God.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
மற்றவர்களிடம் கருணை காட்டுவோருக்கு கடவுள் கருணை காட்டுவார். நம் கண்ணோட்டம் - "மன்னிக்கப்பட்டதால், மன்னிக்கிறேன்."
Showing active compassion to others. God's mercy to us should overflow into mercy toward others. The Lord's Prayer also connects our forgiveness of others to God's forgiveness of us.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
இருதய சுத்தம் என்பது வெளிப்புற ஒழுக்கம் மட்டுமல்ல - உள்ளத்தில் கடவுள் ஒருவரையே நேசிப்பது. அத்தகையோர் கடவுளை காண்பார்கள்.
"Pure in heart" means undivided devotion to God - a heart not divided between God and worldly desires. The reward is the highest possible: they will see God (beatific vision in theology).
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
சமாதானம் செய்பவர்கள் - சண்டைகளை தீர்ப்பவர்கள், மனுஷரை கடவுளோடும், ஒருவரோடொருவரும் சேர்ப்பவர்கள் - அவர்கள் கடவுளின் பிள்ளைகள் எனப்படுவார்கள்.
Peacemakers actively work to bring reconciliation - between God and humans, and between people. Not just "peacekeepers" (avoiding conflict) but those who actively create shalom (wholeness, well-being).
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
நன்மை செய்ததால் துன்பப்படுவது - கடவுளுக்கு விசுவாசமாய் இருந்ததால் அகற்றப்படுவது - இதுவும் ஆசீர்வாதம்! வெகுமதி பரலோக ராஜ்யம்.
The eighth beatitude completes the circle - like the first, it ends with "theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Persecution for righteousness is a mark of authentic discipleship. Jesus expands on this in verses 11-12.
இயேசு இந்த போதனையை கலிலேயா கடலருகே உள்ள ஒரு மலையில் கொடுத்தார் (மத்தேயு 5-7). இது அவருடைய மிக நீண்ட போதனை. 10 கட்டளைகள் போல் ஒழுக்க விதிகளை கொடுக்காமல், இதயத்தின் நிலையை மாற்றும் வழியை கொடுத்தார். "பாக்கியவான்கள்" - இது அண்டை வீட்டு மனிதர்களே நம்மை பார்த்து சொல்வார்கள் என்பது.
